A multi-part series of AENY’s film interpretation of The Dark Stone

The Dark Stone short film premiered in NYC in May 2022. We are now releasing the film as weekly episodes online. Tune in every Wednesday for a new segment of this profound, timely story.

The Dark Stone, by internationally celebrated playwright Alberto Conejero, explores what happens when a confrontation with another becomes a confrontation with the self. The Dark Stone, featured in our Staged Reading Series 2018 and Spotlight on Contemporary Spanish Theater in 2021, is a tribute to the victims of the Spanish Civil War and a homage to Lorca, one of the greatest poets and playwrights from Spain. AENY’s film reimagines this story of difference and reconciliation as a preview for its upcoming stage debut in New York and DC.
